Nothing means anything anymore.

Do you look at toilet paper & water the way you look at diamonds & 72" plasma TVs?

Some things are so frequently used, they don't mean anything to anyone anymore. Things that are readily available are often neglected, and left unappreciated. So are people. We do not realise how important these things are in our lives until we have problems getting easy access to it.
One day, when you have no more water or paper, then maybe you will learn that nothing should be taken for granted. No one person should be taken for granted too.

Oops, I digressed.

What I wanted to lament about in this post is actually about the abundant use of certain words. Such as 'nice' and 'okay'. And more recently, 'love' seems to join this list of overused words.

What exactly do you mean when you say someone is nice? Or that something tastes ok? I don't know. For me, I use these words only when I have no idea what I feel exactly about the subject of discussion.

Love.

love is general

Of course, ‘love’ is a very general word. But I’m referring to the use of it in the context of ‘BGR’.

Teeny boopers declaring their 'love' for their 13-yr-old boyfriends all over their blogs & Friendster. No no, I'm not doubting their maturity level. I'm doubting their definition of love. How do you know you love him, when actually you've only been with your 'stead' for the past 2weeks? Perhaps I should be envious, because it is so easy for them to define love. Unlike in the complicated, selfish and cunning adult world.

Recently, I see/hear/read the word 'love' SO much in my life, I don't feel anything for it anymore.

Boy tells girl 'I love you' in hope of keeping her as his safety net. Selfishness at work. Gullible girl believes and falls into the trap over and over again. Until the day she becomes immune to his 'declaration of love', because he took advantage of that easy phrase and overused it.

Nothing means anything anymore.
