Thanks to my baby sister, I watched yet another play. And I actually enjoyed it more than Beauty World. Its funny, its honest, its real and just enjoyable. Beauty World is much too commercialised. Sure, all the glamourous backdrop, shinny costumes, good vocals and known-actors are indeed very attractive. But it in no way touched my heart, or tickled me.
Chesty, in comparison, exudes passion for the stage. There is so much 'fire' in Jonathan Lim's performance. I can't imagine he's been doing the same act for days and still look like he's doing it for the first time. There's just so much enthusiaism and heart in his act.
Sigh. Theatre. Its so complicated.
