words

Sometimes I feel quite intrigued by words. How a word that is meant to use on non-living matter, can be used to describe intangibles so adequately.

broken
-adjective

1. damaged, no longer able to work:
2. Forcibly separated into two or more pieces; fractured
If something is broken-down, it is in bad condition or does not work

Originally meant to use on a matter that is physically fragmented. Yet so suitably and commonly used on an emotional state.

sour
- adj noun
1. Having a taste characteristic of that produced by acids; sharp, tart, or tangy.
2. Made acid or rancid by fermentation.
3. Having the characteristics of fermentation or rancidity; tasting or smelling of decay

Don't we all hear and see the word often associated with jealousy, temper, etc?

Its strange how these words can describe a feeling so appropriately to a T? hmm..
