Charlene got married last Saturday.
She was my best friend in secondary school, I used to bum around at her house after school everyday. Listening to Jeff Chang &Chen Xiao Dong, watch tv, eat curry maggi, talk about boys, she doing homework, me napping and then wakeup to copy her completed assignment, try on her sister's ahlian clothes and then go play pool/arcade/bowling at ahbeng hangout, Hougang Mall/Point. That was almost ten years ago.
Today, we seldom talk, don't really meet up and when we do, her then-boyfriend-now-husband is bound to follow. She's really the typical 'xiao nu ren', despite her 'fierce' appearence. Haha.. yeh, she really looks kind of fierce with her small eyes, tan complexion and pouty pout. With us, she's really 'chor-lor', especially back then. Vulgarites, squatting on staircases, bullying boys, hahaha.. super ah lian.
But she's the 100% demure , loving girlfriend material when with her bf. Clinging on to him, stroking his hand, his back, keeping quiet when he speaks, do all sorts of things for him. woah. then & now, never changed. Marc can never ask for more, and we girls can learn more.
Though we're far from what we used to be, I feel happy everytime I visit the past. Happy that I ever had such a close friend, contented that there was once someone who cares so much, so lovingly.
Of my closest friends from XMS, only QQ & I remain unmarried. And I might well be the last one. I hope its well worth the wait.
Congrats, Mr & Mrs Marc Wu.
(Oh, Mr Lum Chiron got hitched on the same day. Congrats, and good luck.)
