Prawns!
Viv's a pro prawner, sijia has lucky hands. 老土 bf n i cant be bothered. N i'm blogging. Fresh prawns for supper. They just caught a pregnant prawn which they refuse to let free. :(
*Updates*
They are damn cruel la!! :( :(
Cooked the prawns (including 2 pregnant prawns & 1 baby prawn) ALIVE. Pierced satay sticks through their still-squirming bodies before laying them all over the bbq fire. :( :( You can still see their legs wriggling and slowly losing strength as they die away. Why can't we kill them in a more humane manner? At least let them die before piercing the satay sticks through and burning them ma... :(
Still affected when I think of their legs squiggling, trying to fight for their innocent lives even as they're being barbequed..
I've sinned.

junne is so 幸福!
today also marks the end of my 4-day birthday celebration with all these wonderful people!
Day 1: 29 May, Fri
Dinner at some Peranakan restaurant with the never-ending love of my life - my family! Dinner was cheap and good.
Really thumbs up to the boyfriend's keen sense of observation and attention to detail, I only mentioned to him once that I liked this cake I had in the office, and he managed to find the same cake.
And this cake was absolute Awesomeness. Everyone loved it, this is the first time I had a birthday cake that made everyone willing to dabao home to finish it.
GongGong was so cute - he made everyone sing 'Happy Birthday' thrice. Once in English and twice in Mandarin cuz he was slow. LOL.

Day 2: 30 May, Sat
O-M-G.
The night I got SO BLOODY WASTED i don't remember at least 25% of what happened the whole time.
Of what I remember, dinner at Hakata was, cramped with two unexpected guests in the small private room. But food was not bad, and we were all laughters as usual.
AND THEN, we went to Butter where Gwenne had a table reserved. AND THEN, I was made to drink like at least 11 shots (excluding the other existing-drinks on the table) by my own friends AND boyfriend. AND THEN, somehow was pulled to the member's by Gwenne, where I was made to drink EVEN more.
From Butter, I only remembered, in bits and pieces, drinking alot, dancing on the platform for 10secs, and making my way around the club and being made to drink by random friends of random friends. And the boyfriend being so caught up entertaining himself and friends and leaving me to the company of the very-high Gwenne. HMPH!
But it was good memorable fun.

Day 3: 31 May, Sun
Dinner at Azur with the 'other family', Benny's parents. :)
Was sooo hungover from the night before, I couldn't enjoy the scrumptious buffet. But still, it was heartwarming to be treated like family! :) :)
The Actual Day: 1 June, Mon
My first day of the week at work greeted with a 'very nice' Leon singing Happy Birthday when I stepped into the office. Made me laugh.
Given my not-so-good social skills in the office, that was all I was expecting for my birthday at work. So imagine my surprise when suddenly at 6pm, Charlene started singing Happy Birthday behind me with a cake. :)
I got a pretty dress, from them too! :D Oh, and some 'surprise' SK-II stuff from Leon!
And the day ended with alone-time celebration with ABNN over dinner and a pot of soothing camomile tea (while he enjoys an ice cold beer, i had to stay away from alcohol for at least a week) at La Villa, wish-talking about our future, and arguing about how ah-beng he is. Dinner was so-so only, but the ambience is really good. *hearts*

So..
turning 25 is not so bad afterall, with so many people doting on me and getting older together with me. :D
I feel so 幸福! Now I can say I'm really contented with my personal life. :)
Thanks, everyone!

Bellini Grande
The bunch of us went Bellini Grande 2 weeks ago to act atas over 'vintage-glam' getups (read: my valentino vintage clutch).
Though the crowd is kinda old, it's a really nice place, with a live big band performing jazz tunes, dances and the likes. So relaxing and so indulging.
Managed to take a grand total of 8

junne is damn happening
F1, Arena and an AWESOME night in a 5-star hotel's Presidential Suite (bold, coloured and enlarged for more emphasis) - all for freeee! (i've always been a cheapo nehneh)
Super happy!!
F1 is boring. Hot, crowded, stuffy and I didn't know what was happening.
------
The Arena Live is now officially my favouritest club! DJ Amy, awesome live acts, cute bartender, stacked-up waterfall, and bouncers who check for my ID - what's not to love about it?! They make me feel young and 18 again!
:D :D
------
Due to an informal NDA, and a treasured friendship, I can't reveal much about my stay at the presidential suite, except that its damn luxurious, costs $3000 a night, and it is really damn s-h-e-e-o-k! And we had fun. Now I see better why some people are willing to do anything for money. I wish i can live in a hotel. everyday for the rest of my life.
Dear God, will you please make the young heir of Marriott/Sheraton/Hyatt/any other 6-star hotel fall deeply in love with me?

a happening week!

30 Aug, Ben's Oompalicious 24th~
I'm sure EVERYONE present had fun that night! I sure did! :D
The birthday boy put in much effort to prepare some awesome games for us after dinner at Oompatico's, and spent X% of his high-salary on 2 bottles of vodka to get himself high and krraaazaayy!!
He paid for my dinner too! muahmuah! We're the happiest 3 fwens ever. EVER. yeh. ok. ever.
2 Sept, Dinner at Waraku
Met up with my dearest childhood sweetheart for a quick dinner, and my h3f fren Ben had to come and be 'lightbulb'. But its ok, we'll be going for a Wed night out soon, right? :D
3 Sept, Headgear Party at Indulgz
The 'celebrity' brought her poly gang out for free food tasting at Indulgz. The food is really good! and I'm not saying this just because its all free. Everyone had to choose a favourite at the end of the meal, but i couldn't decide so i had THREE - granulated potato skin, bacon wrapped scallop and pink salmon.
OMG. Just typing out the names of these dishes is enough to get me salivating.
We laughed so much from the silly headgears! Ben, as usual, became the centre of attention.
No photos :( until our super diva, dua-bai celeb has uploaded them into her blog

080808
The day of the $8-million TOTO grand draw.
The day that people queue up to get married.
The day that happens only once in a millennium.
And what did I do today...?
2. Dinner at Tetsu
An acquaintance we met while in Perth, Rayner, started a food blog sometime ago, and through the mini success of his blog, he managed to get a Tetsu set dinner for his blog readers at a special price. So Clara gathered up her herd and brought us there. The dinner was worth every penny we paid, because at the end of the day when we were 'surveyed' what we liked least about the dinner, we had to think really hard. Favourite is the easiest. GRILLED COD FISH!! Absolutely scrumptious! Fingerlickin' good! Delectable! Oiishi! Delicious~!
After a satisfying, fulfilling dinner, we headed off to...
True to my assumption, the place is patronised by dressed-up, snobbish looking ladies, angmoh expats and lawyer-ish looking kind. So not me.
So that's what I did on such a meaningful 8-8-8 day. And I didn't strike the toto, cuz i didn't buy. Better luck next time, perhaps.

Velvet
I think the most interesting part of the night was watching a certain nubile, buxom female celeb flirt with numerous guys and sitting on the lap/hugging a selected few. That, and a (quite hot) drunk girl trying throwing herself at Jason. Lucky guy.
And we took photos~

Blading
I FELL SO HARD I (THINK) I BROKE MY BONE.
Cuz I was stupid n yaya n showoff. It backfired and I fell hard on my bum.
Lesson learnt: Never ever be yaya at something you are not good at.

Random stuff..

2. Cafe Del Mar, for the first time. :$ YA LA. I suakoo cannot ah?
3. Got a HUGE bruise on my thigh. Can see from the superduper vainpot picture below?

4. Discovered a new favourite drink, and favourite sauce while there. Yummy. White Chocolate Martini & Curry Mayo. (not together, of course)
5. Discovered gothere.com. Awesome. Better than streetdirectory.com
6. Picked up two (lousy) mobile phones over two consecutive days! Creepy right? I've never picked up anything more than a $5 note before, and now, two mobile phones in two days?!
7. I picked up the first phone from the toilet in my office. Initially wanted to keep it, but it was from like 4years ago or something so i guess the owner must be poorer than me, so I returned it to the receptionist for lost & found. Turned out to be hers.
8. Kept the second phone, since I took it as a reward for returning the first phone. No la, the guy locked the sim card so I found no clues how to return the phone.
9. I need to exercise more.
10. Finally mastered fake-lash sticking. Great time saver. Hooray.
11. Oh, Dalia from Zohan, Emmanuelle Chriqui (first saw her in Entourage), is so hot. Super hot bod, & pretty face. Damn. Hate her.

12. damn, Megan Fox is also sizzling hot. argh. hate her too.

13. Its girls like them that go around putting self esteems into trashcans, so i hate them. Cannot ah?
14. For the first time in my life, my Song of the Moment is a TRANCE song. omg.
15. Cairo? Moscow? Dubai? Or Nepal? hmm..

19 - 25 June 2008

Bangkok is one of my favourite travel destinations because:
1. the people are friendly,
2. their culture is vibrant, diverse & super happening
3. everything is at least 400% cheaper there. (SGD4 hair wash + blow, SGD10 mani + pedi, SGD10 dresses, SGD1 noodles...)
4. its just 2 hours away
5. cheap accommodation is everywhere
6. their food is cheap n good!
7. there are soooo many things to do there other than shopping & massages
8. airfares to bangkok are cheap
9. everything is just cheap & good! i like! (yaya, i cheapskate, so?)
awesome. :)

a busy weekend
After more than 1.5years, i'm finally moving on from active8. I had my farewell dinner on Fri with most of the people i have worked with during my stint there.
We went to sabaidee thai restaurant opposite TBM..the food is surprisingly not bad!
And although little Matthais snatched alllllll the limelight, I was super thrilled to see him again! he's damn cute, never fails to make me smile. :D
Aiya, actually i'm quite sad about leaving active8 la... it is my first job afterall, and everyone has always been more like a friend than a colleague.. I spend so much time there, it has become like quite a part of my life already.. :"(
I just hope I'm moving on to something better.
Farewell dinner photos are here!

byebye, a8.

Mr & Mrs Benson Lim (again)
The morning was o-k. I made a silly mistake in one of the sabotages. :p
Dinner was fun~ Though only less than 10% of the guests actually made an effort to dress in Old Shanghai (proud to one of the rare few), it was still much fun cuz Fiona was such an entertainer, as always.
Not many photos la (got many of myself, if u secretly adore me, u can go check it out here) .. cuz my cam is sucky and keeps running low on battery. Will add in more when I get them from whoever.
:)
Happy Honeymoon~

one week of smiles
Awesome weather
Wonderful people
Excellent service
Super duper yummy donuts
O-M-G internet/work-less for a week
Many many nice people around
Extraordinary landscape
It was my first time travelling alone and it was not that scary. Ok, I was not technically alone 24/7 cuz I sleep half the day away everyday, and spend the rest of the time looking forward to my 6pm-to-7am companion.
But STILL! I did the touristy stuff alone! And that means taking the train/tram alone, eating alone and taking my own photos.
Actually, it feels quite good to plan your own itinerary and decide to scrap it off for more shopping time, without anyone's disagreement. Not needing to wait for anyone, being able to take my own sweet time, blahblah.
Its even better when there's something to look forward to at the end of the day. :D
My everyday highlight: 6pm at Flinders. Cuz that's where my alone-time ends and laughter begins.
Thanks for my one week of smiles, boo. :)

Mr & Mrs Dennis Bay
So of course I dressed up for the first wedding of my generation in the family!
(God knows when was the last time I combed my hair, and put on almost-full makeup. *blushes*)
Even Ah-ma is all dressedup, wearing her fav. wear-to-all-dinners pearl necklace.
(Sidenote: I think my drinking genes all come from her)
Berlyn was supposed to be the 'flower-girl'...
eh, don't see them nerdnerd like that, they super cute wan lo..
those who know me know i was even worse them them 12 years ago, look what a swan I became! wahaha...
The beautiful couple & the little flowergirlSsss.. (me also, haha!)
My dad, the usual designated 'yum-seng' guy, was hidden all the way to the back of the stage, but can still hear his damn loud and long note of 'yummmmmm...yumyumyumyumyumyummmm...SENG!'
Cake-'cutting' time..why do they never distribute wedding cakes? Den 'cut' for what?
ohoh, my mummy! :D
i vain cannot ah?
Berlyn & me again! :D I get reminded time and again I've entered adulthood whenever I attend joyous family occasions like these. How so? When my aunties & uncles keep bugging me to get married, and telling me that '24 oredi! what ONLY?'
